Roland Lundy, Partner

Roland Lundy, a 28-year veteran of the publishing and entertainment industries, serves as a partner leading the Media/Publishing, Non-Profit and the General Management Practices of the firm. He is involved in business development and client management for the firm. Prior to joining The Buffkin Group, Mr. Lundy was the President and CEO of Word Entertainment, a $130 million Christian entertainment/publishing company,  headquartered in Nashville , Tennessee . Mr. Lundy’s business career began with Word in the mid-70’s as a telephone sales representative.  Before becoming president of Word, Inc. in 1989, he held positions in marketing, promotion, sales and distribution and eventually became Executive Vice President of the music division.  While president, he managed the sale of Word from ABC/CapCities to Thomas Nelson Publishers in 1992. In 1993, Mr. Lundy was responsible for consolidation of all the music assets from Thomas Nelson and Word into what is now known as Word Entertainment.  While a part of Thomas Nelson, he grew Word revenues from $72M to $103M.  In 1997, Mr. Lundy managed the sale of Word from Thomas Nelson to Gaylord Entertainment. Successfully managing the integration of Word into very diverse cultures through two acquisitions, while continuing to attract top talent has given Mr. Lundy keen insight into the complexity of attracting and retaining key executives.  Over 15 years of executive management and over 28 years of industry relationships, position Mr. Lundy to not only lead the Entertainment Practice, but to have a significant impact on the clients we serve. Mr. Lundy holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in marketing from Baylor University .  He was a four-year baseball letterman and Assistant Coach for one season.  He and his wife Sarah reside in Brentwood , TN with their two children Rob and Jessica. Mr. Lundy currently serves on the board of the Nashville Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Gospel Music Trust Fund.
